ABOUT MEHi, I'm Carling.I am a theoretical ecologist broadly interested in the intersection between global change, ecosystem functioning and food production. I am especially interested in how multi-stressors and environmental variation interact with the underlying processes of complex systems to impact the structure, function and stability of dynamic ecological systems across scales.
The major motivation behind my research is my love for the natural world and desire to understand rules that regulate the remarkable persistence of complex systems. When not behind my computer, you'll probably find me exploring nature by hiking, camping and/or fishing. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University with David Vasseur. I completed my PhD in 2022 at the University of Guelph with Kevin McCann. |
